Drake Is Apparently Having A TERRIBLE Time In Brazil!

Drake is at the Rock in Rio Festival in Brazil this weekend, and if this trip really has gone as bad as is being reported, it may be the Canadian superstar’s last one to the South American country…

The rapper is in the country for the very first time this weekend in order to headline the festival, and while tickets are already super expensive, it sounds like he’s gone above and beyond in making things difficult, too. And judging by the chatter on social media from Brazilian fans, people are PISSED!

Drizzy has been trending on Twitter in the country for much of the weekend, after managing to “anger and disappoint the easiest fans to please in the world,” according to local media reports. It all started when he apparently ignored fans at the airport upon his arrival, prompting some mean comments about this being “why Rihanna broke up” with him. Yikes!!!

Some fans managed to capture the controversy on film (below):

Not a good look, but travel is tough!!! Still, compared to Bebe Rexha — who reportedly stopped for fans and signed everything she possibly could — Drake came away looking bad.

But wait, there’s more…

At the very last minute ahead of his show that night — which was scheduled to begin just after midnight — the Canadian rapper decided to pull permission for the concert to be aired on TV or any livestream online!!! Traditionally, Rock in Rio is aired live on Brazilian TV network Multishow for fans who can’t afford to go to the festival, and there was plenty of buzz for the former Degrassi star’s show, but he up and nixed the whole thing, according to local media reports.

Brazilian media even reported that Drake “seriously considered” canceling the entire show at the last minute. According to the rapper himself, the cancellation of the TV livestream came around because of bad weather (below):

But…. one of the directors of the TV network involved immediately responded to Drake denying the bad weather excuse, and calling him out publicly on social media (below):

“It’s not true,” he wrote. “You messed up with your absolute lack of respect for the Brazilian public. Way before the rain, you had already blocked the transmission. You fired your light designer, you threw a fit. Simply didn’t want to ok [the transmission]. A pity for your Brazilian fans.” WOW!!!

To get back at Drake, Multishow decided to re-air an old Rihanna concert instead. YESSS!!!!! Brazilians (as well as us) LOVED the shade, and Rihanna has also been trending in the country all weekend.

But wait! There’s STILL more!

The rapper and his entourage were apparently a nightmare for Rock In Rio organizers the entire weekend, according to local Brazilian news reports. For one, Drake allegedly refused to eat food prepared for him by the Brazilian chefs at the resort hotel where he was staying, instead choosing to bring his own food (one potato, the reports claim) and his own chef into the country.

He reportedly didn’t tip the hotel workers who served him at any point, either, and also refused to drink mineral water offered to him backstage at the show.

At one point, he apparently held a private part for “Instagram models” who allegedly had their phones confiscated at the door of his hotel room by security, and then went on to be a “nightmare” backstage at the show itself, threatening to cancel his set and at one point even removing it from the tour schedule on his website.

To top it all off, the rapper allegedly fired his own lighting manager, only to rehire the man after he failed to find a replacement on short notice in the South American country. Not great, Drake!

Clearly, Rio de Janeiro did not agree with the Canadian superstar — or something else was going on entirely — because the allegations here all come together to make a BAD weekend for the festival, and the fans, and everybody wanting to see Drizzy in action. Yikes!!!
