Cardi B wore her most wild look yet at Paris Fashion Week, but is she also rocking a double standard?
The Hustlers star appeared outside of the Eiffel Tower in a head-to-toe blue, green, and purple floral outfit by designer Richard Quinn, complete with a fabric face mask, headscarf, coat, long skirt, tights, and shoes, and it has some calling her out.

While outside of the monument, the 26-year-old shared with onlookers:
“What’s poppin’ baby? I heard you b***hes were missing me at Fashion Week New York. I’m here to serve it to you motherf**kers, and serve it to you cold. You b***hes could really never. Make sure a car don’t hit me, ’cause a b***h can’t see.”

While outlandish for sure, did it also expose a major double standard about women’s rights? In 2010, France banned full-face veils and headgear which covers the face, primarily affecting Muslim women who wear niqabs for religious reasons.
During a 2018 United Nations Human Rights Committee meeting, the committee said two women who had been fined for wearing the full-face veils should be compensated instead, and urged the country to review their controversial ban:
“The French law disproportionately harmed the petitioners’ right to manifest their religious beliefs. The Committee was not persuaded by France’s claim that a ban on face covering was necessary and proportionate from a security standpoint or for attaining the goal of ‘living together’ in society.”
It was added that the ban “rather than protecting fully veiled women, could have the opposite effect of confining them to their homes, impeding their access to public services and marginalizing them.”
Many on Twitter had mixed feelings about the Money rapper’s ensemble. Here are some of their thoughts (below):
“Cardi B can wear this in Paris but Muslim women aren’t allowed to wear the Niqab? Double standards.”
“So it’s illegal for Muslim women to wear the niqab in France, but when Cardi B dresses in a “head to toe” outfit for Paris fashion week it’s celebrated ?? Make it make sense”
“Soooo is anyone in France going to raise security concerns about Cardi B fully covering herself, or does that argument only apply to Muslim women in niqab? 🤔”
“Religious Muslim women get slandered and humiliated publicly by the French public and government on a daily basis for wearing a hijab but when Cardi B does s**t like this you call her queen”
Even Game Of Thrones alum Nathalie Emmanuel weighed in online:
Gwaarrrn @iamcardib!! I hope this reminds people that Niqabs are banned in public places in France & come with a fine of up to €150. https://t.co/SGlGRRVTnb
