Haylie Duff and Ashley Tisdale grew closer, all thanks to bonding over a common enemy — Hilary!
Perezcious readers know that the 7th Heaven alum has been a huge supporter of Ashley as she dealt with the fallout of her article for The Cut last month. The Disney Channel star bashed her former “toxic” group of mom friends, including Hilary, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor (though the pop star insists she’s innocent).

We saw Haylie step up to be there for the High School Musical alum during the chaos that ensued for weeks after, which was interesting because Hilary is the food blogger’s baby sis! They have been on the outs for years, but still! We didn’t think Haylie would take a side, but she did! And it’s now brought her and Ashley closer together! A source told Us Weekly on Friday:
“Ashley and Haylie have developed a really close friendship and have bonded recently.”
According to the insider, Ashley leaned on Haylie, and the 41-year-old actress has “brought comfort” to her amid the mom group drama:
“Their kids have had play dates. They have kept a close friendship.”
Although the pair “have been friends for many years,” the situation really “strengthened” their bond:
“They met through the industry and Haylie actually bought Ashley’s house a decade ago. Their bond strengthened even more during the mom group drama. Ashley reached out to Haylie for advice, and Haylie has really been there for her through it all. They have a lot of common ground.”
As we mentioned, they are both estranged from Hilary at this point. The source added that the sisters “don’t speak at all.” How said. Getting closer to Ashley probably won’t help their issues, either! Oof!
