The new Bachelor had a not-so rosy time in Costa Rica!
According to Radar Online on Tuesday, Peter Weber suffered a “serious injury” in the Central American country amid production for the hit ABC show.

While playing a game of golf on Monday, “Pilot Pete” reportedly fell on two cocktail glasses, and “split his face open.” Eek!
The source explained:
“He went to step on the cart but fell and and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying.”
The reality TV personality traveled for two hours to a hospital where he had to be operated on by a surgeon. In the end, he received 22 stitches.
A different insider remarked:
“He is pulling through.”
At the time, the source added “everyone is worried about production,” as “all the women [competing for his roses] were flying in for filming [on Tuesday].”
Fortunately, the 28-year-old is apparently A-OK following the drama!
A People insider later on Tuesday said he is already filming again — with a bandage on his face — after his “golf cart mishap.”
A second source told the publication his injury is “not as bad as what is being reported!” as production is back on schedule. In fact, Peter even went on a date the day after his surgery!
Hey, if he had to have surgery, it sounds like it might be exactly as bad as reported…
On Tuesday, host Chris Harrison released a statement to ET about how the hunk “suffered a freak accident,” playing down the injury:
“He got a cut on his head… He did get stitches but he’s 100% OK and production is already back underway… He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”
As we reported, on the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, Weber was announced as the new leading man for season 24 — which will premiere in January 2020.
The Westlake Village, California-native — who placed third on Hannah Brown‘s season of The Bachelorette — told Harrison:
“It’s still hitting me right now, and I feel so grateful right now just to have this opportunity in front of me… I feel emotional right now. This is crazy. This is life-changing. I have truly, my entire life, looked forward to finding my girl, and that first person that I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with… I have all the faith in the world that this can work for me, and I know it’s going to.”
In regards to what he learned from Brown — with whom he had sex with in a windmill sans injury — he answered:
“From night one with that first toast to the very end when I said goodbye to her, she was 100 percent unapologetically herself, and I love that. And that’s something that I definitely want to carry forward with my journey now.”
Sadly, not everyone is on board with the pilot’s casting.
While speaking with ET, former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay expressed her disappointment by telling the publication:
“I think Peter seems like a very nice guy. He seems lovely. This is absolutely nothing against him, but how many Peters have we seen before? What season are we on? 24. So, we’ve seen 24 Peters. I’m bored. And it’s nothing personal against him.”
Ouch!
