Tensions are running higher than usual for the stars of The Hills: New Beginnings!
According to RadarOnline.com sources, major salary differences between Audrina Patridge and Mischa Barton versus the rest of the cast is reportedly causing drama to arise.

An insider revealed (below):
“It’s an open secret on the set that Audrina and Mischa are by far the highest paid personalities on the show, clearing well over $150K per episode for what’s usually four hours of laid-back shooting.”
So, just how much of a difference is there? The informant explained the remainder of the stars — which includes Heidi and Spencer Pratt, Whitney Port, and Brody Jenner — are “making a quarter or less of that fee and doing a hell of a lot more work.”
Less than $40K each?? That’s a pretty big chunk of cash if true!
The source added:
“There’s a groundswell of muttering going on about everyone demanding equal pay – though Mischa and Audrina are oblivious, or at least pretending to be. Tensions are flaring and they’re sure to boil over soon.”
Yikes!
But apparently, Miz Barton is getting paid top dollar for bringing the best storylines to the reality series. In April, a confidant spoke out to the publication about the 33-year-old’s addition to the cast:
“She’s looking great while portraying a heightened version of herself and has a ton of input over the storylines. Doing this series has been a massive risk for her because people take so much of these reality shows at face value, but she’s having a great time and is already making a solid living off of it.”
Furthermore, the insider revealed the MTV series could run a longer than anticipated course on the network because of Mischa:
“There’s no reason there can’t be five more seasons of this. Bosses are loving what they’re seeing so far.”
The source continued (below):
“Even though Barton is the new face here, it’s quickly become her show, and everybody working on it has a spring in their step over what she has brought to the table!”
