Kevin Hart is opening up in an emotional new video about his recovery process following the major car crash which nearly took his life on September 1.
In the Instagram TV clip, the comedian shares footage of his healing after the accident which caused a major back injury. As it begins, a message reads on a black screen: “September 1, 2019. I was involved in an accident. My world was forever changed.”

At the beginning of the two-minute vid, he shared:
“Basically, what you realize is that you’re not in control. No matter how much you think you’re in control, you’re not in control. At the end of the day, it can all be over, man. When God talks, you gotta listen. I swear, life is funny because some of the craziest things that happen to you, ended up being the things you needed most.”
The 40-year-old continued (below) as videos show Hart beginning to receive physical therapy on his back following his release from the hospital:
“In this case, I honestly feel like God basically told me to sit down. When you’re moving too fast and you’re doing too much, sometimes you can’t see the things that you’re meant to see. But after my accident, I see things differently. I see life from a whole new perspective. My appreciation for life is through the roof. I’m thankful for my family, my friends. I’m thankful for the people that simply ride with me, have been with me, ’cause you stood by me. My fans—I’m thankful for all your love and support. So, don’t take today for granted, ’cause tomorrow’s not promised.”
Kevin, who received surgery for three fractures in his back, closed out his post by sharing:
“More importantly, I’m thankful for God. I’m thankful for life. I’m thankful for simply still being here. The role to be an even bigger and better version of me. Looking forward to an amazing 2020.”

As for the legal ramifications of the single-car accident, the 40-year-old seemed to be sparing the driver, Jared Black, of a court battle because he is choosing to use his personal health insurance to cover his medical costs.
Sources close to the father of three tell TMZ he does not intend to sue Black, whom the California Highway Patrol determined caused the crash due to reckless driving, and will not file a claim with their insurance company to cover his bills and cost of his totaled 1970 Plymouth Baraccuda.
Ironically enough, the publication reports Jared may take legal action against his friend for not having his car equipped with the proper safety harnesses. However, no one in the car was wearing their seat belt, so unless they were being worn, a safety harness would do no good.
Continuing to wish you a speedy recovery, Kevin!!
