Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel Reportedly Have A $500,000 Cheating Clause In Their Prenup!

Justin Timberlake had to swallow his pride and apologize on Wednesday, after days of controversy and social media outrage over paparazzi pics that showed the married man getting handsy with Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright.

But even though the Man of the Woods performer may have shown “a strong lapse in judgment,” as he acknowledged in his public apology to wife Jessica Biel, things could have been a LOT worse!

In fact, forward-thinking Jessica (or one of them, at least) was thoughtful enough years ago to add a cheating clause to the couple’s prenuptial agreement… and it nearly came into play during this controversy! (And still may, who knows…)

According to several reports, the former Seventh Heaven star and her Mickey Mouse Club alum man apparently had a clause in their prenup that prohibits infidelity — and, should it take place, a financial penalty is placed upon the guilty party!

This all comes about after a New York Daily News report from way back in 2013 resurfaced after the hand-holding fiasco, in which the outlet claimed Biel and Timberlake agreed to a $500,000 “no cheat” clause as part of a larger “lifestyle” prenup the couple signed ahead of their fairytale October 2012 wedding in Italy. Gotta get it all on paper and signed off on ahead of time, we suppose…

Wait, It’s Only $500K?!

To us mere mortals, half a million dollars is a nearly inconceivable amount of money. But to the Social Network star, who is reportedly worth a whopping $200 million, might $500,000 not seem a little light?

Still, it’s a hefty price to pay in one fell swoop if the clause were to be enforced, though, so we assume it would hurt the pocketbook no matter what… unless, like, you’re Jeff Bezos or something! LOLz!

Besides, as The Blast reports, Justin and Jessica technically live in Tennessee full time, and the Volunteer State is known as an “equitable distribution” state as far as divorce is concerned. That means that even with a signed prenup, divorce judges in Tennessee have more latitude to alter the terms of legal agreements and distribute assets as they see fit to “ensure fairness” for both parties. Suffice to say, then, that a cheating scandal could cost JT quite a bit more than half a million, depending on how a judge sees it!

Standing By Her Man…

Admittedly, all this prenup and payout talk may be a moot point, though! We’re already getting reports that Biel is backing her embattled beau, and as of now there’s no sign these two are anywhere close to splitting up. We suppose sometimes true love is worth more than the cheating clause in a prenup, ya know?!

What do U think, Perezcious readers? Half a million bucks is no small penalty, but is it a bad sign that these two even had a cheating clause in their prenup in the first place? Or is this just good, smart business sense to have something like this in place before two high-profile people tie the knot??
