Caitlyn Jenner apparently isn’t mad about this one… no matter what it may have looked like on reality TV cameras!
The former I Am Cait star was the only cast member not to be greeted by friends or family when she was voted off I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Outta Here not long ago. But while it was made out to be a big deal at the time, the former Olympic hero isn’t sweating it… and, in fact, she’s apologizing for it!

The Malibu resident spoke to the Daily Mail about her experience on the popular Australian reality TV show, and specifically about her lack of loved ones present at the end. In the conversation, Jenner clarified that she didn’t “expect or ask” any of her relatives to fly down to greet her upon being finished.
The 70-year-old reality TV star said (below):
“My family are very well-known. I never asked any of them to come down or expected them to — they all have businesses and families. I was disappointed they were criticized. After the show was over, I texted or called all the kids to apologize.”
Wow! That’s a nice touch on her part — and an important clarification considering the KarJenners were slammed at the time for what appeared to be insensitivity on their part for not showing up.
But alas, what you see on TV is not always real… even on a reality show!

At the time this whole controversy went down, you’ll recall how Caitlyn’s son Brandon Jenner called it out for what it was (and Kim Kardashian West confirmed as much) in a fan’s Instagram direct message.
Writing back to a fan who asked why any family members weren’t there for the end of Caitlyn’s show, Brandon responded:
“Honestly, nobody reached out to set it up. I think it might have been a ‘storyline’ the producers wanted to fabricate in order to get more empathy for Caitlyn. That’s how that kind of TV works.”
Very interesting!
For what it’s worth, longtime friend Sophia Hutchins did come out to greet Caitlyn after the end of the show — though her flight was delayed in getting down to Australia on time. And Kendall and Kylie Jenner set up extravagant decorations of Caitlyn’s place when she returned to the States, further celebrating her achievement. So there was thoughtfulness there… it just didn’t work for the show’s producers at the time.
What do U think, Perezcious readers? Are you buying that line? Or is it an excuse meant to salvage the fam’s reputation a little bit??
