Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Using A ‘Surrogate Therapist’ Ahead Of Chicago West’s Birth

Kim Kardashian West makes sure everything is done right when it comes to family!

That’s why when the KUWTK superstar opted to have a surrogate help deliver her third and fourth children with husband Kanye West, she went through all the stops to be sure that things were exactly perfect as they started the process. Attention to detail… gotta love it!

The 39-year-old mom of four opened up about the surrogacy experience, and the lengths she went to in order to ensure it was a positive experience for all involved, on celeb divorce attorney Laura Wasser‘s new podcast, All’s Fair.

According to E!, who got a sneak peek at the interview, the secret to success with the surrogate in Kim’s situation was a “surrogate therapist” who served as something of a go-between working to communicate simultaneously with both the reality TV star and the woman carrying her child.

Kim explained more, saying (below):

“You get your surrogate attorney, you get your surrogate broker and then the broker recommended that we use a therapist that would communicate with me first and then communicate with her and kind of be our liaison. Towards the end we got close enough where we could communicate really without that. [The therapist] would suggest, ‘Hey, I think you guys should communicate once a week through text, maybe on Mother’s Day. She’s a mother as well. Maybe get her a massage or something that’s appropriate for her to pamper.’ And then things like going through the birthing plan, so if anything was uncomfortable she would be that buffer to say, ‘This is who I want in the room. What are you comfortable with? How does this work?”

Very interesting!

Sounds like a very delicate relationship to master — especially early on before Kim and the surrogate became closer themselves.

OK, so, no surrogacy here! LOLz!!! / (c) Kim Kardashian/Instagram

And to hear Kardashian West tell it (especially after two high-risk pregnancies of her own), having a gestational carrier do the work is unbelievably worthwhile, though difficult it may be:

“Having a gestational carrier is definitely different, but anyone who says or thinks it’s the easy way out is completely wrong. People assume it’s better because you don’t have to deal with the physical changes, pain or complications with delivery, but for me it was so hard to not carry my own child, especially after I carried North and Saint. I’m so grateful for modern technology and that this is even possible. It’s not for everyone, but I absolutely love my gestational carrier and this was the best experience I’ve ever had. Our gestational carrier gave us the greatest gift one could give.”

Awww! So great!

Here’s to healthy, happy surrogates and new mothers of all kinds!!!
