This is such important and critical work to carry on in the memory of Kobe Bryant… and now, his late daughter Gianna Bryant, too.
On Thursday afternoon, Vanessa Bryant took to Instagram to announce a major change to the former Los Angeles Lakers star’s foundation, the Mamba Foundation.

As you can see (below), the organization is now the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation — a direct reference to Gianna’s role in the family’s legacy and her own basketball stardom ahead of her untimely passing alongside her beloved dad:
Along with the pic of the new logo, Vanessa wrote (below):
“Because there is no #24 without #2, we have updated the Mamba Sports Foundation to now be called the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Our mission remains the same – and stronger than ever – to provide opportunities to young people through sports. Thank you all for the outpouring of support and your kind donations to date as we carry forth Kobe and Gigi’s legacy.. We hope to empower young athletes in a world they left us all to help shape. #Mamba #Mambacita #wings”
So touching… and such a great way to honor the late teen’s legacy right alongside that of her world-famous father.
Gone, but never forgotten, indeed, and moves like this ensure that this amazing father-daughter duo will live on forever, and touch the lives of many more basketball players and others along the way. Nice move with this one, Vanessa!
