Orlando Bloom is heading home!
As you’re likely aware, Hollywood has not been exempt from the coronavirus, which has caused the shut down of several ongoing productions and will be delaying the release of films out of precaution. And Carnival Row, Bloom’s series on Amazon, is no exception.

On Thursday, the 43-year-old took to his Instagram Story to announce production on the show —filmed in Prague, Czech Republic — has been halted for the time being. He announced in the video:
“It’s farewell from us as we’re going home to be quarantined.”
Bloom continued (below):
“We’re coming home to the States, at least I’m coming home to the States because we want to get in before the quarantine. Big love everybody, stay safe out there. Self-quarantine. It seems really crazy actually this whole corona thing, but do the right thing by you and your family and stay safe. A few weeks, we’ll beat this bad boy.”
Though it is unclear if Orlando has been in contact with anyone infected, many are self-quarantining and practicing social distancing in an attempt to stop the spread of COVID-19.
The update from the Pirates of the Caribbean alum comes after President Donald Trump announced a ban on travel from Europe to the United States, beginning Friday at midnight. He said in his address from the Oval Office on Wednesday:
“To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days. These restrictions will be adjusted subject to conditions on the ground. There will be exemptions for Americans who have undergone appropriate screenings.”
On Thursday, the Czech Republic announced a similar ban on travel, declaring a state of emergency and barring travelers from 15 countries from entering the country for the next 30 days. Citizens from the Czech Republic are also barred from traveling to those countries.
Meanwhile, Bloom’s pregnant fiancée Katy Perry is also headed home amid growing coronavirus concerns. The songstress was set to perform at a bushfire relief concert in Australia, but will no longer and canceled a series of media interviews. She spent 24 hours confined to her Sydney hotel room as a precaution before leaving for the US.
We hope they both get home safe and sound!!
