Another famous friend has come to Johnny Depp’s defense in his ongoing legal war with Amber Heard, and this celeb thinks her abuse allegations are nothing but “lies and manipulations.” Strong words…
Javier Bardem was the latest star to go on the record in support of Depp over the past few weeks, stating that he doesn’t believe his Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales co-star is a violent person in any way. In a declaration for Depp’s defamation case against his ex-wife, obtained by The Blast, Bardem noted that the 56-year-old has a “respectful attitude” towards those around him.

He stated:
”I love Johnny. He has always been a true gentleman and an extremely generous and caring friend to my family and myself.”
The Oscar-winner then recounted working with Depp on multiple films, during which time he claims the actor was pleasant and helpful to everyone on set. He continued:
“On top of that, I’ve had the gift of working with him twice and have experienced his respectful attitude towards every single member of the crew alongside his unique and hilarious sense of humor. I stand by Johnny because I have always seen and felt a true caring and loving man in him… an extraordinary and unique artist who has listened to anyone who needed his help.”
Noting that he’s willing to testify in Depp’s defense as a character witness in the case against Heard, Bardem went on to describe his “deep respect” for the actor, writing:
“I not only love Johnny but respect him deeply and I thank him for being the free and careless little boy he is in his art and the mature and loving man he is in the lives of others, always there when we need him.”
The Spanish actor capped off his declaration by seemingly throwing some shade at Heard and her allegations of domestic abuse against Johnny, explaining:
“I love Johnny because he is a good human being, trapped in the lies and manipulations of toxic beings and yet smiling and loving us all in spite of it. How? Through his music, through his acting, through his silence. This means a lot. Thank you, Johnny. Millions of others like me love you deeply.”
Wow. We thought Winona Ryder’s declaration was intense, but Bardem’s love for Johnny is clearly on another level!

This fervid declaration comes after Bardem’s wife Penelope Cruz, with whom he shares two children, filed a declaration in support of the actor, noting that she had “seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around.” As we reported, the actress, who co-starred with Depp in Blow, wrote:
“Many years have passed and I have not only made 3 movies with him, but I also count on him as a great friend. I’ve always been impressed by his kindness, his brilliant mind, his talent, and his peculiar sense of humor. I’ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around. He is one of the most generous people I know… My husband and I will never forget the sweetness, protection, and kindness he treated me with during every single step of that process. We love him very much and I feel lucky to have someone so special in our lives.”
We should note, Javier isn’t necessarily the greatest corner man at the moment as he infamously ALSO defended Woody Allen in 2018, calling the allegations against him a “public lynching.” Yeesh. As of now, Heard hasn’t had any celebs speak in support of her. The Aquaman star’s former assistant did file a declaration, however, claiming that Heard was mentally and verbally abusive to her throughout their working relationship.
Depp’s Virginia lawsuit against Heard is scheduled for trial later this year, while his defamation case in the UK against The Sun has been put on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic. We’ll see if more stars continue to speak out. In the meantime, what do U think of these latest declarations, Perezcious readers?
