Kristin Cavallari Returns To United States After ‘Isolation’ Vacation With Friends In The Bahamas

Kristin Cavallari has touched back down in the United States following a drama-filled few weeks in the Bahamas.

As we previously shared, the Very Cavallari star first caught heat for promoting her jewelry biz Uncommon James in mid-March as things began to get increasingly serious with the coronavirus. Since then, things have only gotten worse with both the global pandemic and in the comment sections of her social media posts.

Justin Anderson, K. Cav’s BFF and regular on the reality series, shared a snap with the momma of three on March 15 which sparked initial confusion:

“you go to work- people judge. you social distance- people judge. just wash your hands, keep your space, and use this time to be positive and take care of your loved ones . 🏝♥️”

Two days later, he shared a group photo with his fiancé Austin “Scoot” Rhodes and Kristin’s husband Jay Cutler, indicating that they were “stuck” on the island until further notice:

“being stuck on an empty island and forced to quarantine could be worse. thankful for my wolf pack during these scary times. this is where we are, this is us staying positive. we couldn’t be social here if we tried ✌🏼 i am afraid of what we will go home to when they let us back into the states 😢 hope you’re all staying safe where ever you happen to be ♥️”

Many in the comment section of his post expressed confusion as to why they would not have tried changing their travel plans, and why they even went on vacation in the first place.  Without addressing any of these concerned commenters, the foursome continued sharing beachy content, and later confirmed that Kristin and Jay’s three kids were also with them.

As pointed out by Twitter user @clairecdowns who recapped all the tea, at this point the Bahamas had mandated a curfew and closed all non-essential businesses. On March 23, all public beaches were closed and a state of emergency was declared.

By March 24, the Bahamian government had closed all ports for incoming travel to the island, and urges any remaining visitors to leave. The US Embassy had been (and still is) issuing cautions to travelers that they should return home as soon as possible.

On March 29, Anderson did his best to field more negative reactions to the vacay posts and replied to one commenter who inquired into their travel plans:

“we are safe here. we can easily social distance here with my friend’s kids. and it’s a good spot to wait out what is happening back home. ♥️”

Per a press release, a “complete shutdown of all services” went into effect on April 3, though “hotels with guests” were not affected.

FINALLY, the crew returned to their respective homes on Monday, with The Hills alum sharing snaps on her IG Story back in Nashville discussing her wellness regimen on Tuesday morning. It’s unclear whether or not they will abide by the recommended 14 day self-quarantine after traveling, but the 33-year-old did share:

“We had a short window to get out of the Bahamas so we jumped all over it.”

She has yet to directly address any of the concerns over being on an extended vacay during the crisis, and it’s unclear if she will choose to given how past situations have been handled.
