Cameron Diaz is opening up about her life as a new momma!
The typically private 47-year-old chatted with friend and Who What Wear CEO Katherine Power during an Instagram Live session on Tuesday all about what has changed since she and husband Benji Madden welcomed daughter Raddix Madden into the world at the end of 2019.

She explained:
“I love being a mother. It’s the best, best, best part of my life. I’m so, so grateful and so happy and it’s the best thing ever and I’m so lucky to get to do it with Benji and we’re just having the best time. It’s so great. I’m just thrilled.”

As we mentioned, the retired actress and her rocker husband fly under the radar as it is, so it wasn’t all that shocking to find out that she had welcomed a child without a peep getting out until after her birth! Because of that, the Charlie’s Angels star had already been in a “bubble” for months before the coronavirus pandemic even started:
“I’ve kinda been living a quarantine life anyhow because I have a three-month-old, or a three-and-a-half-month old. So my life has been completely quiet and still for the last few months. But I was able to have my friends over all the time. And now I just don’t see anybody.”
She continued:
“But it’s nice, and I love a bubble, I love being in the womb of my home with my husband and cooking. But at the same time it’s crazy that you can’t go out to the world right now.”
Cameron also shared her coping technique for dealing with COVID-19 related anxiety, which is to not think too far into the future:
“The way I’m making it through this time is by staying in the present. I stay in the here and now.”
Great advice!
Despite having two very well-known parents, it seems Raddix already has a fairly normal upbringing for being just a few months old:
“I have to cook at night. After we do bath time with our baby and we put her to sleep, Benji puts her to bed, he’s so good. He’s such an amazing father. I’m so lucky he’s my baby’s daddy. He’s so incredible. He puts her down and I go into the kitchen and I start dinner and I pour myself a nice glass of red wine. I start my cooking, I put on my show, whatever it is.”
Sounds like they’re both super hands-on with their little girl! But Miz Diaz makes sure to take time for herself as well with a glass of wine at night because “it’s my wind down for the day.”
