Eva Mendes Won’t Post Photos Of Her Kids On Social Media ‘Until They’re Old Enough To Give Me Consent’

Eva Mendes is proud as can be of her two children, 5-year-old Esmeralda and 3-year-old Amada, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at her social media profiles!

That’s because the Lost River alum has been very intentional and careful about keeping her private life to herself. And that includes a decision early on not to share photos of her kids online until they’re older and can give actual consent to the release. Wow!

The 46-year-old actress revealed as much on Sunday, down in the comments section of this Instagram post (below):

Along with the pic of that painting, Ryan Gosling‘s lovely longtime partner wrote:

“⁣During these times, I’m so confused about what to post so I’m going to post things that move me in hopes that they move you as well. Since I don’t post my about immediate family, and it feels so wrong to post about work, here you go…One of my favorite pieces of art from one of my favorite artist René Magritte. I’ve always loved this one and it feels especially relevant right now. ❤ sending lots of love out there ❤”

Love it!

The “since I don’t post about my immediate family” line definitely drew some attention from followers, forcing Eva to clarify and comment about her decision to maintain some privacy and stay off such personal topics.

After one fan asked about her desire to avoid the spotlight, the Hitch star wrote back:

“hi! I have always had a clear boundary when it comes to my man and my kids. I’ll talk about them of course, with limits, but I won’t post pictures of our daily life. And since my children are still so little and don’t understand what posting their image really means, I don’t have their consent. And I won’t post their image until they’re old enough to give me consent. As far as Ryan and I, it just works for us this way, To stay private.”

Wow! That’s a very specific — and probably very smart — decision on the part of Mendes and Gosling to not involve their kids in social media and the world of the internet before they absolutely need to be! Ever the polite and humble star, when another commenter piped up about Eva’s ask for privacy in a separate comment, she again responded with grace and poise:

“I don’t mind explaining myself sometimes. I care about people and their questions. So I’m happy to answer honestly. But thanks for saying thanks! Sending you lots of love out there.”

Awww! We wish more people were this positive out there…

But more to the point, what do U think about Mendes’ privacy mandate for her kids, Perezcious readers?! Is she holding them back from something they should start to learn early or is it a refreshing change to see at least one celeb staying away from self-promotion and social media blabber at her family’s expense?

Whatever the case, these kids should turn out to be quite the opposite of social media troublemaker Mason Disick now, won’t they?! LOLz!!!

Seriously, though: sound off with your take on everything down in the comments (below)!!!
