Sorry to Daniel Craig, but we think Pierce Brosnan officially wins the “Best James Bond” title after hearing about this real live act of heroism.
Halle Berry appeared on Tuesday’s episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon (via video chat, of course) where she reminisced about the time the British actor saved her life on the set of Die Another Day.

The now-53-year-old actress, who played the Bond girl Jinx Johnson in the 2002 film, recalled:
“One time I was doing a scene with Pierce Brosnan on Die Another Day and I was supposed to be all sexy and trying to seduce him with a fig and then I end up choking on it. He had to get up and do the Heimlich.”
OMG!
Halle admitted her little mishap was “so not sexy,” adding:
“You should’ve seen it. Like, James Bond knows how to Heimlich. He was there for me. He will always be one of my favorite people in the whole world.”
We don’t doubt it!

Berry isn’t the only person Brosnan left an impression on during his four-film stint as 007.
During Esquire UK’s live watch-along of the 66-year-old’s first Bond flick Golden Eye, he revealed Quentin Tarantino was also a huge fan of his portrayal of the iconic spy — and even requested a meeting with him after the release of Die Another Day.
Brosnan recalled:
“It was after Kill Bill Vol. 2, and he wanted to meet me, so I went up to Hollywood one day from the beach, and I met him at the Four Seasons. I got there at 7 p.m., I like to be punctual. 7:15 came around, no Quentin, he was upstairs doing press. Someone sent over a martini, so I had a martini, and I waited till 7:30, and I thought, ‘Where the heck is he?’ Word came down, apologies, so I thought, ‘OK, I’ll have another martini.'”
When the Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood director did eventually make his way downstairs, the actor said the two got “fairly smokered” together, remembering:
“He was pounding the table, saying, ‘You’re the best James Bond, I wanna do James Bond.’ It was very close quarters in the restaurant and I thought, ‘please calm down,’ but we don’t tell Quentin Tarantino to calm down… He wanted to do James Bond, and I went back to the shop and told them but it wasn’t meant to be. No Quentin Tarantino for James Bond.”
No more Brosnan, either. Die Another Day ended up being his last Bond role, with Craig taking the reins in the 2006 film Casino Royale.
Do U think Brosnan was the best 007, Perezcious readers?
