Kate Gosselin can’t be loving this one all that much.
Collin Gosselin, who turned 16 years old along with five of his siblings on Sunday, May 10, just posted a tribute pic to his Instagram account praising a woman in his life — you know, in light of it being Mother’s Day and all. But instead of it being his birth mom, Kate, Collin instead chose to lavish his love on Jon Gosselin‘s longtime girlfriend Colleen Conrad, instead. Yikes!!!

Colleen, who has been dating Jon for almost six years now long after he split from one-time reality TV star Kate, shows up in a nice pic alongside Collin on the teenager’s Insta feed. Along with the snap of those two smiling together (which you can see in part, above), the sextuplet also writes this sweet message to his dad’s girlfriend, saying (below):
“Turns out today is Mother’s Day, today we pay love forward to our mothers, but I don’t think mother can describe all the things Colleen has done for me. Yes a mother clothes her children and cooks for them but it’s the best feeling when your mother or mother figure is one of your best friends and always has your back, the one who always shares that laugh of the humor only you guys get. I could call it Mother’s Day, but it’s more than that, Colleen, you are so much more than a mother to me, you are one of my guidelines and one of my guiding lights. Thank you doesn’t say enough, I love you so much and you’ve done so much for me that claims you my strong, happy, loving and awesome mother figure, you’re irreplaceable. Thank you so much Colleen love you so much!!!❤️❤️”
Wow!
That is a SUPER nice thing to say to anybody — but especially to somebody who’s not blood related or anything on a day like today. And it says so much of Colleen and how she’s apparently stepped up to help be a positive force in Collin’s life that he would feel like writing that to her on Mother’s Day. Bravo, Colleen (and Jon), because you must be doing something right!
But also… can we talk about the total shade that comes with not even referencing your biological mom! YIKES!!! How do y’all think Kate must feel about that?!?!

Of course, knowing Kate’s not-so-great history with Collin specifically, all this kind of makes sense, doesn’t it? After all, she shipped him off to a boarding school live-in treatment facility after he’d been diagnosed with ADHD, only to have the poor boy eventually beg his now-43-year-old father to come rescue him after several years there.
Clearly, those wounds cut deep. And though he seems well-adjusted and happy now, we can certainly understand if the 16-year-old had not-so-sweet feelings about his biological mom. Who could blame him, knowing that difficult family history, ya know?!
