Big congratulations are in order for Heather Locklear!
According to People, a close family friend of the Melrose Place star has confirmed that she is getting married to her longtime boyfriend Chris Heisser, noting the two have “been engaged since the end of April, as they were celebrating her year of sobriety.” Aww. Way to keep this happy news under wraps for so long!

For those who may not know, Heisser and the 58-year-old actress were high school sweethearts and reconnected a few years ago in 2017; they dated on-and-off as Locklear battled substance abuse and completed multiple stints in rehab following several high-profile arrests in 2018 and 2019. We heard about how Heather was “in a great place” in personal life just a few months ago after getting the professional help she needed and now, it appears the two are finally ready to take their relationship to the next step with marriage.
Sharing more details about the engagement news, the confidant added:
“They are really happy together. Her family, her parents, her siblings, and her daughter are all supporting her and excited for her.”
The friend says that Locklear’s 22-year-old daughter Ava Sambora, whom she shares with ex Richie Sambora, is totally supportive of her momma’s decision. Sweet!
Rumors that the Spin City star was off the market started swirling last week after the Daily Mail published photos (see ’em HERE) of her out and about in Los Angeles with an impressive sparkler on her ring finger and a cheeky mask that read, “I’m smiling.” How fitting!

As we touched on earlier, Heather has been through a lot in recent years and her tumultuous relationship with Chris definitely played a part in her sobriety struggles. The two had a pattern of breaking up and making up, as an insider revealed to Radar Online last May:
“Heather and Chris got into a screaming match, and after they finally cooled down she realized she’d lost control again and decided she needed to head back to rehab!”
Prior to that point, she was previously hospitalized for a possible overdose in June 2018, and in November 2018, was placed on a psychiatric hold. But with the continued support of her inner circle, the Dynasty star was finally able to get back on track and we couldn’t be happier for her and this new chapter of her life!
