The Canadian-born reality TV star and popular podcast host showed off a video of herself enjoying a drink and hanging with friends — among them, country music singer Carly Pearce. So far, so good, right? And yet Kaitlyn’s choice of caption and music for this one has eagle-eyed fans very suspicious…

OK, so, let’s start at the beginning: about a week ago, we reported on Pearce filing for divorce from fellow country music singer and brand new husband Michael Ray. The pair had only been married for eight months before the split, and sources at the time said the coronavirus quarantine did not play an issue in their parting. Both singers have since remained tight-lipped about the breakup, too, after previously being very vocal on social media about their love for each other, so, like, what gives?!
Well, late last night, Kait posted this video (below) to her IG account, showing off gal pal Carly toasting an adult beverage with some friends:

It’s an innocent-looking video, of course, and maybe there’s nothing to it! But look a little bit deeper: for one, Kaitlyn’s caption is super interesting. Whenever anybody starts to talk about karma, there’s always a backstory, ya know?! LOLz!!!

And second… what about that song?!
We only hear the first few bars in Bristowe’s short video, but the full track is Gabby Barnett‘s popular post-breakup anthem I Hope — a raw, emotional song about a girl who’s been cheated on by her partner:
Whoa! Suddenly, they’ve piqued our interest! Not exactly subtle is it?! Ha! There’s been no confirmation of anything untoward on Ray’s part, but any time you use a song like that?! Come on. Kaitlyn knows how to play this social media game, y’all!
The 35-year-old television personality and Pearce go back years, FWIW. The 30-year-old country music singer has appeared several times on Off The Vine, Kaitlyn’s popular podcast, dating back to 2017. She was even on the show late last month, several weeks before the divorce news broke, and spoke then about her (now-estranged) husband, saying:
“We both grew up the same way of wanting to do this [singing country music] for a living and grew up loving the same kind of music. He loves the classic country and bluegrass, and he loves like the real, the Opry and all of those elements. So I think our hearts are kind of like, they bleed the same way, if that makes sense.”
So music brought ’em together, but it couldn’t keep ’em together. If we only knew what drove ’em apart…
Anyways, all this cheating hubbub could be much ado about nothing, of course, but it sure is interesting that Shawn Booth‘s ex would pick that Gabby Barnett song for her social media vid, isn’t it, country music fans?! Definitely had our eyes (and DMs) light up when we saw it!!
