Mary-Kate Olsen is keeping her focus on work after separating from her husband Olivier Sarkozy.
As you’ll recall, the 34-year-old filed for divorce from the 51-year-old in New York after the state lifted its moratorium on non-emergency and nonessential court filings amid the coronavirus pandemic. It’s now been two months, and she’s “doing really well,” a source told ET.

The fashion designer is not only on the up and up in the weeks since her relationship drama went public, but working has been “keeping her distracted” from the split. Managing label The Row alongside sister Ashley Olsen has been her primary priority as she works in the Hamptons, though she has also been making trips back into the Big Apple to hustle in her office there.
And despite the fact that the iconic twins are worth an estimated $250 million each after years in the public eye, they still maintain a busy schedule because the ladies “never liked being idle.” The source added:
“Mary-Kate has so much to offer and has a great work ethic. It’s not about the money. It’s about the personal satisfaction.”
Mary-Kate and Olivier tied the knot in November 2015 after dating for three years, and much of what is keeping her busy now that they’ve separated is what drew the French banker to the Full House alum in the first place, spilled a second confidant:
“Olivier was very attracted to Mary-Kate’s ambition and success. He very much respects her work ethic and is beyond proud of everything she has ever accomplished.”
They added:
“Her career is a big part of who she is, and he never would want to change who she is. He has worked incredibly hard his whole career and is now at a point where he wants to slow down and enjoy his life.”
This contradicts info from a past confidant, who claimed MK’s packed schedule was a sore subject in their marriage! A People insider described (below) the marital friction back in May:
“She’s super career focused and he’s very French and wanted her to be more available. You can’t control a girl who has been on the billionaire track since her 20s.”
Regardless of the reasoning behind the couple’s split — whether it was over careers or kids —we’re just glad to hear Mary Kate is doing so well today, and hope she has people in her corner to stand by her side.
