Vanessa Morgan couldn’t wait to update fans on her pregnancy following two weeks of near radio silence on social media!
As you probably recall, after the Riverdale star announced she was expecting at the end of July, it was revealed days later that her husband of five months, Michael Kopech, had filed for divorce. Since then, the actress has been quiet on her Instagram, and only recently, has she returned to her Twitter.

Thankfully, her most recent post on the social media platform was all good news! Uploading a photo from her latest ultrasound on Wednesday, Vanessa tweeted about her growing boy! She wrote:
“He’s a lil kicker #bigfoot”

The 28-year-old, who appears to be four months pregnant, has yet to address her split from the White Sox baseball player, but it has been confirmed he is the father. Still, she already seemed to hint she would be raising their baby boy on her own back when she shared her pregnancy news with the world.
On July 24, she took to her Instagram account with photos from her gender reveal where Kopech was noticeably absent. And even in the caption, Morgan never once referenced her hubby, writing singularly about her coming bundle of joy:
“Exciting news… I am overjoyed to be welcoming my baby boy into the world this January. This little guy has already brought me so much happiness and a feeling of such a greater purpose. I cannot wait to meet you!! On a personal note, I have had the blessing of growing up in the public eye having started my acting career at age 6. While this has been incredible for me, I am very much looking forward to giving this little guy some room to grow up outside of the public eye, until he tells me otherwise. Lil one you were made with so much love & already exude a light so strong it warms my belly. Thank you God for this blessing. As The CW personality maintained her silence, Riverdale co-star and IRL BFF Madelaine Petsch was quick to come to her defense. Commenting on the (above) post, the Cheryl Blossom portrayer blasted the “disrespect”!
“honestly if I see one more comment like this I’ll lose it. Vanessa is a beautiful mother to be and the hate and disrespect I’m seeing on this post about her bringing a new life into this world is disgusting.”
