Nothing can cheer you up like a great Broadway tune! Unless of course it’s the saddest song ever performed by some of the best pipes in the business…
That was the gift Ariana Grande gave the world on Monday evening, as she joined Jason Robert Brown for his virtual SubCulture Artist-in-Residency concert for charity.
Ari got her start in Brown’s musical 13 way back in 2008, along with her Victorious co-star and BFF Elizabeth Gillies, so this was a real return for the Thank U Next pop star.

Her version of the mournful centerpiece song from Brown’s breakup musical The Last Five Years is soulful and heartbreaking — really divergent from Anna Kendrick in the 2014 movie!
