They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, but Ariana Grande certainly doesn’t seem to agree.
After getting the attention of the hit-making songstress with her amazing impressions, one TikTok creator has found that out the hard way.

Here’s a good example of Paige Niemann‘s content (featured in the inset above), which originally went viral in the fall, that shows off their INSANE similarities:

But on Thursday, 26-year-old Grande took to her Instagram Story to share a video from filmmaker Jordan Firstman, who was doing an impression of a meme. He said in the clip:
“What if we, like, we took a moment, like a small clip from a movie or a TV show — something that, like, an artist really poured their soul into and it, like, it just took them years to make, and it was an uphill battle the entire time — what if we took a moment from that and we kind of, like, recontextualised it? Like, does that make sense? And we put a completely arbitrary meaning onto that thing that the artist loves so much? Kind of, like, degrading its entire value?”
And added:
“I just think that could be, like, a fun, bitchy thing to do. I’m so bored… I just kind of wanna ruin someone’s life today.”
It seems the 7 Rings singer really resonated with what Jordan had to say because she shared her own commentary to IG Story in a now-deleted post:
“omg can this please also double as your impression of the pony tail tik tok [sp] girls who think doing the cat valentine voice and that wearing winged eyeliner and a sweatshirt is doing a good impersonation of me … cause this really how it feels …
‘degrading it’s [sp] entire value’ i screamed”
From her post, it kinda sounds like she’s genuinely offended? Thankfully for Niemann, it doesn’t sound like she’s too bothered as she went live on IG to share her thoughts:
“I’m used to Ariana shading me, so it’s whatever. I’m just here to entertain people. It’s not how I am in real life. It’s kind of why I’m not a fan of her anymore, honestly.”
As Paige hinted, this isn’t the first time Ariana has spoken up about her! Back in November when she first blew up, Miz Grande called the whole situation “bizarre” on Twitter:
“i just wonder whyyyy the cat voice / dialogue. 😭 i am sure she is the sweetest sweet sweetheart forreal !! but it’s definitley bizarre seeing people blend the two worlds lmao.”
Thoughts on this, Perezcious readers?? Is Ari totally being a brat here? Let us know (below) in the comments!!
