Bill Clinton is claiming ignorance about his old pal Jeffrey Epstein.

The long-awaited testimony to the House Oversight Committee with Bill and his wife Hillary Clinton is underway — and he’s got a lot to say! Or, should we say, he’s got a lot to deny. We already know the story of Bill sending some sweet, gushing letters to the late convicted pedophile, going as far to compliment his “childlike curiosity”. Gag.

But what the former President is telling the House of Representatives is that he had NO CLUE what was going on with Jeff! On Friday he claimed in his opening statement he “had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing”:

“Now, let me say what you’re going to hear from me. First, I had no idea of the crimes Epstein was committing. No matter how many photos you show me, I have two things that, at the end of the day, matter more than your interpretation of those 20-year-old photos.”

We think it’s a lot more than interpretation going into these files, Bill! The guy was a pedo and a sex trafficker. That part is not speculation anymore.

Now, it’s worth noting that neither Bill nor Hillary have been accused by any of the surviving Epstein victims that have come forward with other claims. But we DO know that Bill was on some flight logs (which he claims had to do with the Clinton Foundation).

It’s very clear Mr. Clinton did have relations with Epstein, at least somewhat, and with everything that’s coming out, even KNOWING the guy seems like bad news. So no wonder it’s leaving a bad taste in everyone’s mouth.

In his statement, Bill continued to say he “did nothing wrong”:

“I know what I saw and more importantly, what I didn’t see. I know what I did and more importantly, what I didn’t do. I saw nothing and I did nothing wrong.”

Saw nothing. Didn’t notice a thing. Willful ignorance, perhaps? Who knows. But this isn’t the first time we’ve heard this story. How on earth was everyone hanging out with this guy and not seeing the signs? Were their eyes closed?!

Bill went on to say he “had long stopped associating” with Jeffrey by 2008 when his horrific crimes started to come to light. He also claimed that he would’ve turned the guy in himself if he “had any inkling of what he was doing”. It’s wild how a President of the world’s most powerful country could have no idea what was going on with a global trafficking ring, but okily dokily!

In his opening statement, he warned listeners that since all this went down 20+ years ago, be prepared for him not remembering a lot of stuff:

“You’ll often hear me say that I don’t recall … That might be unsatisfying, but I’m not going to say something I’m not sure of. This was all a long time ago, and I’m bound by my oath not to speculate or to guess. This is not merely for my benefit, but because it doesn’t help you for me to play detective 24 years later.”
