Now THIS is how you start a new year off right!
Cameron Diaz and hubby Benji Madden are on the top of the world right now, ringing in the arrival of 2020 with the best thing ever: the arrival of their first child! As we reported earlier this week, the 47-year-old actress and her 40-year-old husband announced the birth of their daughter Raddix in an Instagram post on Friday.

And now, a source has spoken to People about the notoriously private parents and their newborn, adding some details about the birth. The insider revealed more on where the new mom and dad are emotionally right now, too, saying (below):
“[The baby came] right before New Years in Los Angeles. You can tell they are just the happiest. It’s very emotional for them.”
Awww! So cute!
As you’ll recall from their statement on Friday, the couple — who first married in 2015 — announced the arrival of Raddix with a sweet, simple IG post.
In the message, they shared how grateful they are to be new parents ready to kick off the decade:
“Happy New Year from the Maddens! We are so happy, blessed and grateful to begin this new decade by announcing the birth of our daughter, Raddix Madden. She has instantly captured our hearts and completed our family. While we are overjoyed to share this news, we also feel a strong instinct to protect our little one’s privacy. So we won’t be posting pictures or sharing any more details, other than the fact that she is really really cute!! Some would even say RAD 🙂 From our family to all of yours, we’re sending our love and best wishes for a Happy New Year and Happy New Decade.”

Private, Quiet… And Happy!
The star of There’s Something About Mary and her Good Charlotte rock star husband have really settled nicely into private life, it would seem. Back in August, Diaz opened up about stepping away from the film industry, and at the time it really sounded like she’d made peace with her life and A-list career. Now, with an adorable new baby at home, too, it sure seems like everything is clicking for this happy couple.
