Chrissy Teigen Reveals All The Reasons Why She Gets Mommy-Shamed On Social Media!

Sticks and stones may break her bones, but mean tweets will never hurt Chrissy Teigen. Well, almost never!

In a new interview with NBC, the supermodel admitted that, despite her many epic clap-backs on social media, getting constantly mommy-shamed does sting a little bit.

As our readers know, the 34-year-old media personality is frequently the target of trolls and critics across the interwebs whenever she broadcasts her opinions, glimpses into her parenting with husband John Legend, or butt.

Most of the time, the Lip Sync Battle co-host dismisses the hate with some sort of hilarious response — an entertaining cycle that suggests she’s impervious to social media pests. But, as she explained to TODAY Parents in a recent sit-down, the momma of two does occasionally flinch from the waves of shaming she’s hit with on the reg. She told the outlet on Thursday:

“The comments affect me. Of course.”

As for what Teigen gets mommy-shamed for the most?

“It’s pretty much everything.”

No surprise there!

She elaborated:

“Any time I post a picture of them holding ribs or eating sausage, I get a lot of criticism. Vegans and vegetarians are mad and feel that we [are] forcing meat upon them at a young age. They freak out… If they get a glimpse of the car seat there is a lot of buckle talk. Maybe for one half of a second, the strap slipped down. And TV is another big one. We have TV on a lot in my house. John and I work on television; we love watching television.”

So that’s why she’s so quick with the clap-back: momma is constantly on the defensive! While the cookbook author does occasionally let her fingers take over and reply to these messages, she insisted there are plenty of times where she simply bites her tongue, so to speak.

She explained on the Today show:

“It’s tough sometimes. You wanna be able to say more. Sometimes I’m like, ‘I’m not in the right headspace to deal with this, I have two kids, I got other stuff going on. So sometimes I want to say something so badly but it’s not worth it to me and I need my mind to be clear.”

That’s right, y’all. This whole time, Chrissy hasn’t even been going full force with her clap-backs. Let’s hope we never have to see the day where she does! Ch-ch-check out a clip of her interview (below) to see what else the star had to say.
