Cody Simpson is opening up about his iconic romantic history.
The 29-year-old appeared on Tuesday’s episode of the We Need to Talk podcast with Paul C. Brunson and reminded everyone just how legendary his dating history is! At around the 45 minute mark, the La Da Dee singer revealed none other than Kylie Jenner was his first girlfriend after moving from Australia to LA at 14 years old. And funny enough, they met at the 2010 premiere of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse! He dished:
“I was probably 15, she may have been 14 or 15. She’s a tiny bit younger than I am. But I think her and Kendall were interviewing people on the red carpet … they had just started doing stuff in the public eye.”

The pop singer said he took his sister to the premiere because she “loved” the Twilight franchise, and things just worked out naturally from there:
“I think I asked her for her number there or something. We exchanged numbers and we started talking. It was young. I took her to the movies or something and we dated for about a year and I think we just bonded through being in these unique situations. So it was nice. I think it’s just nice to relate to somebody at that age in that world.”
OMG!
Following his romance with the youngest KarJenner, Cody struck up a relationship with THE Gigi Hadid. He bashfully revealed:
“I’m giving you all the tea here. I’ve never broken it down like this. I might as well, though. I was at the mall with my friend — at the time I would have just turned 16 or something. [Gigi] had just done her first billboard for Guess. She was a couple of years older than I was. I think she’s maybe two or three years older than I am, so she was maybe 18, I was 16. I thought she was the hot older girl.”
LOLz! He continued:
“We were just walking through the shopping center and I asked my buddy, ‘Who’s that?’ and he goes ‘Oh, that’s Gigi. You don’t know Gigi?’ [I go] ‘No, do you know Gigi?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, kind of. I can give you her number if you want.’ I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ll take it!’”
The Aussie native went on:
“This is going to sound so stupid, but I cold-called her, and I said, ‘Hey, it’s Cody, I’m a musician. I’m doing this music video, I was just calling to ask if you want to be in it?’”
But in reality, Cody revealed “there was no music video.” HA! He went on:
“No plans for a video, videos have all been shot. I go, ‘I got one more video I’m shooting tomorrow … I would love for you to be in this video.’ I’m pretty sure I pitched her this whole concept and stuff that didn’t exist, and she goes, ‘Yeah, okay, sure.’”
That awkward and completely made up interaction “broke the ice” enough for Cody to do some damage control — AKA making up a reason for the fake video shoot to not happen. But he still proceeded to ask her out on a date! Cody revealed he had just gotten his first car at the time and couldn’t even legally drive, but still picked her up. The Pretty Brown Eyes singer revealed:
“She was my first love … we were together on and off for about two years.”
Wow! He revealed she came on tour with him and that, similar to his relationship with Kylie, the pair bonded through being in the spotlight from a young age — and her then-step dad David Foster even gave him some music advice! Cody sweetly added:
“The universe brings people together when they’re supposed to be together … We were supposed to be together when we were and learnt stuff from each other.”
Dating Kylie and Gigi back to back? That was probably every teenage boy’s dream in the 2010s! But Cody’s hot streak didn’t end there.
“About four years” after he and Bella Hadid’s big sis called it quits, Cody struck up a relationship with Miley Cyrus! At about 22 to 23 years old, the hitmaker “did [the] COVID lockdown” with the Flowers singer:
“We became friends when I was, like, 18. We used to go and party together and hangout, and we always just had a lot in common. She did one of my album artworks for my song. It was called Flower. … We connected and bonded, in a way, through rebelling from being that teen pop stardom thing, and she’s obviously, like, rebelled very publicly from that over the years and went through certain things. And I think when I started to go through that, she came into my life and helped me navigate it in some ways. … I was a downright hippie for a couple years and she was just my friend during that period. And then we lost touch for a few years, and then when we were a little bit older and I guess more mature, we started talking again and at that time it turned into something else.”
He added:
“Again, it was one of those things that was very much we were meant to be together at that time. We were both sober and in very different places to where we were when we were friends back in the day. We were kind of exploring what the hell we’d just been through. I’ll always be grateful for that.”
