'Days Of Our Lives' Pauses Production On Long Running Soap Opera Amid Internal Investigation

Days Of Our Lives is pressing pause.

According to reports, via The Wrap, the production pause is due to the investigation involving Albert Alarr, who is a director and co-executive producer.

In the nine-week internal investigation, which stemmed from a large number of layoffs in March, Mr. Alarr had been accused of unfairly targeted female employees.

One longtime star of the show actually spoke out about the working conditions.

Corday Productions, the company the produces Days of Our Lives, released the following statement, following the investigation: “Corday Productions engaged Sony Pictures Television, which distributes Days of Our Lives, to conduct an impartial investigation into this matter. After a two-month investigation, the independent investigator produced a report with its findings. Based on those findings, Corday Productions has taken a series of actions designed to ensure a safe and respectful work environment.”

Now, in new reports, NBC revealed that “production will extend a pre-planned hiatus this week past Monday.”

There were no additional details revealed about the decision to do so.
