After reporting extensively on her current health status on Saturday, we had a feeling this might happen, and, well, here we are.
Ariana Grande has officially canceled her Sunday night concert in Lexington, Kentucky as part of her Sweetener world tour after multiple updates across the past several days about her being severely ill. And, to hear Ariana tell it, it’s clear that she’s truly broken up about having to miss a show due to the sickness, as evidenced by her sad posts of apology and regret across social media.

In a Sunday afternoon video posted to her Instagram Stories, the 26-year-old singer revealed what we had all feared after Saturday’s updates: that the sickness had actually gotten “ten times worse” overnight, and was far more seriously affecting her than it had in the days leading up to Kentucky.
Speaking directly to the camera in a video for her fans, the Side to Side singer revealed more about her sickness, saying (below):
“I woke up kind of 10 times worse and it hurts so bad to swallow. I’m not really sure what’s going on. But, I, unfortunately, don’t think I will be able to push through tonight. I am so sad and sorry. I’m so upset but of course obviously, you will be refunded. I’m just really devastated. Thank you for understanding and sending love. I will keep you posted as soon as I know what is going on with my body. Thank you for understanding and I am so sorry.”
Awww! That’s too bad.
Clearly, Ariana felt terrible about the whole thing, too, because she later tweeted on Sunday afternoon several messages including her thoughts for her fans, including this one:
it sucks feeling like absolute shit but it sucks way more to not be with u all. u mean the world. i hope u truly know. love u.

And hours later, after Barbra Streisand offered up some love and aid, Ari tweeted at her, as well:
my goodness. love you so so much. thank you my sweetest. https://t.co/n9894wF6A6

Sickness aside, what a cute moment between two stars!
Obviously, it’s less than ideal for a singer to have to deal with such a serious sickness right in the middle of a world tour, and cancel (or shift) tour dates because of it… not exactly a great situation to be in, but there’s no question Ariana (and her fans) will press on.

Tough stuff, but so goes life. Get well soon, Ariana! And rest up!!!
BTW, Grande’s next tour stop is Tuesday night in Atlanta, followed by a Friday night show in Raleigh, North Carolina. Let’s hope she’s all better by then!
