When it comes to his love life, Harry Styles prefers to speak in riddles — and not even Ellen DeGeneres is able to get a straight answer out of him!
The 25-year-old pop-rocker stopped by The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Wednesday where he discussed his freshly-released album, Fine Line, as well as his recent hosting gigs for Saturday Night Live and The Late Late Show.
As we reported, the former One Direction member sat down with his rumored ex Kendall Jenner while filling in for James Corden’s late night program last week. The two played a game during which Harry chose to eat cod sperm over revealing whether any songs on his album were about the 24-year-old model.

Well, Ellen didn’t have any sperm to threaten Harry with on Wednesday — but she did try her damndest to get him to talk about his rumored romance with the KUWTK star. She asked:
“You and Kendall are really good friends now, right?”
To which he replied:
“Yeah, we’ve been friends for a while now, yeah, for like several years.”
The host then added, grinning:
“It’s sweet that you all are still really good friends.”
But Harry didn’t take the bait. He answered, smiling:
“Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Right? …Okay!”
The daytime icon went on to switch up her tactic, noting:
“Some people are saying that this album is all about a breakup from someone.”
After the superstar merely responded with an “okay,” Ellen asked:
“So the question is, is it?”
From there, Harry launched into a rather rote response about his creative process that conveniently ended with his album title. He said:
“I think I definitely write from a personal experience. I think a lot of people do. I think if you want your songs to be honest and connect with people, it’s usually from writing honestly… So yeah, it’s definitely about, I guess, what I was going through at the time. And that’s both good and bad. I think the thing with this album for me is while I was making it, the times when I was kind of sad were probably like some of the saddest times in my life, but then at the same time the times when I was happy were some of the best times I’ve ever had in my life. It’s both, it’s a fine line.”
We wouldn’t expect a less vague answer from the heartthrob!

While Harry remained as cryptic as ever about his romantic adventures, he was more than happy to share every last detail about what led to the entirely nude poster of him on the Fine Line album booklet.
He told the host:
“[The photographer] was like, ‘OK, this shirt’s not really working, so let’s try it without the shirt. Those trousers aren’t really working, so let’s try it without the trousers.’ And he kind of looked at me and I was like, ‘These pants aren’t really working, are they?’ And he was like, ‘No.'”
Love the specificity, H!
