Here’s hoping for a quick, easy recovery for Elton John!
The iconic singer revealed a serious sickness on Saturday, just hours before he was to perform in Indianapolis for the city’s show in his much-anticipated Farewell Yellow Brick Road global tour. In the end, the 72-year-old was forced to postpone the show, saddening fans hoping to see him one last time, and leaving many worried for his health.

In a statement released just hours before the show was set to take place, the Rocket Man icon told fans he was unable to perform due to being “extremely unwell.” The full statement read (below):
“To my dear fans in Indianapolis, It is with the heaviest heart that I’m forced to deliver the news that I am extremely unwell and therefore unable to perform at @TheFieldhouse tonight. I absolutely hate to let my fans down, but I owe it to you to put on the best #EltonFarewellTour show possible and unfortunately that’s simply not possible. The date will be rearranged for March 2020, and I promise I will deliver the show you deserve. Thank you so much for your support and understanding.”
Oh no!
The singer shared the news all across social media, including on his official Twitter account, here:

So unfortunate!
The show has already been rescheduled, which is good news for fans of his in and around Indianapolis. The venue appears to have worked very hard to make a postponement happen, scheduling around basketball games and some other events to make sure they were able to bring back Elton John one final time, even if it’s months from now.

He will now be performing there on March 26, 2020, as the city’s arena that would’ve hosted the legend noted in their own announcement about all of it (below):

OK then!
This is sort of a big deal, as far as cancelled shows go; after all, Elton John has been serious in his plans to stop touring for good in 2021, so for a city like Indianapolis, it’s probably this or nothing for the rest of his life and career. Still, it stinks that he’s so sick — get well soon, Elton!

The iconic performer is next scheduled to take the stage on Monday night in Nashville, followed by a Wednesday night concert in Memphis; here’s hoping he’s healthy enough for both of those dates and then some as he rests and recuperates.
Poor Indianapolis!
