Erykah Badu is coming for Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina candle with an odor of her very own — specifically, her very own p***y!
That’s right. The legendary singer revealed in an interview with 10 Magazine that she’s created an incense that smells like her vagina — a clear competitor to Goop’s $75 “This Smells Like My Vagina” candle that consumers apparently can’t get enough of.
While the timing suggests that Badu was inspired by Gwynny’s vag-based product, the Appletree performer insists this product was her brainchild, and was in fact inspired by an “urban legend” about her lady bits.

The Grammy winner told the outlet:
“There’s an urban legend that my p***y changes men. The men that I fall in love with, and fall in love with me, change jobs and lives.”
So, she selflessly decided to harness her so-called “superpower” and sell it to the masses. The result is an incense appropriately called “Badu’s P***y” that will be sold on her upcoming website Badu World Market, which launches February 20.
Unlike other vag-based products that don’t actually smell like Gwyneth Paltrow’s vagina (the Goop-tress previously admitted she was “kidding” when she came up with the name for the product), Badu’s P***y comes directly from the real thing.
The singer explained:
“I took lots of pairs of my panties, cut them up into little pieces and burned them. Even the ash is part of it.”
Good to know customers will be getting 100% organic Badu p***y!
The singer admitted the panty burning process did feel a tad personal, but felt that “the people deserve” to inhale her p***y power.
Gwynny’s product, on the other hand, isn’t as truly vajayjay scented as Badu’s. The Avengers: Endgame actress explained her creative process during a recent interview on Late Night With Seth Meyers, admitting that the whole thing “sort of started as a joke.”
She revealed:
“I was with ‘The Nose’ Douglas Little for his brand “Heretic,” and we were kind of messing around. And I smelled this beautiful thing and I was like, ‘This smells like my vagina.’ And I was kidding, obviously. And we were on mushrooms… No! We weren’t on mushrooms!”
The lifestyle guru continued:
“It actually became a really funny thing where it was, A: Really funny to us, but also a little bit punk rock… And, you know, I think women, a lot of us have grown up feeling certain degrees of shame around or body, or whatever. So this is just a little bit of a, you know, subversive candle for all of us out there.”
Sounds like Eryka took Gwynny’s product one step (or should we say… push?) forward!
Will you be buying some of Badu’s P***y, Perezcious readers?
