Springtime birthdays are looking a little different this year as people worldwide continue to practice social distancing, but that doesn’t mean they’re any less special!
Prince Louis, the youngest son of Kate Middleton and Prince William, turns 2 on Thursday, and it seems like his day will be just as fun with help from older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

A source shared with Us Weekly:
“Kate and William will celebrate Louis’ birthday at Anmer Hall. They wanted to throw him a party and invite Carole and Michael [Middleton] too, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they’re having to keep it small. Just William, Kate and their three children will be there.”
We’re sure all the kids will love playing together today!
The insider continued:
“George and Charlotte have made their own cute birthday cards for Louis, and the family will give him their gifts when he wakes up. Of course, they’ve got him a cake. Louis’ favorite song is ‘Happy Birthday.’ He sang it to the queen [on her birthday] on the video call, and he can’t wait to sing along to it … on his special day and blow out the candles!”
And of course, his parents will obviously be in on the fun as well and take part in outdoor and garden games with the kids:
“William and Kate are planning to spend most of the day in the garden playing outdoor sports and games as a family — football, chase and hide-and-seek!”
Luckily, video chat will allow the rest of the fam, including grandparents Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, as well as great grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, to take part in the festivities from afar:
“Louis will still get to see his grandparents, who he adores — including [Prince] Charles and [Duchess] Camilla via video call, as well as the queen, in the morning.”
As they’ve done in years past, Kate snapped a few photos of her sweet boy to share in honor of his special day, which were shared to the @KensingtonRoyal Twitter and Instagram:
We are very pleased to share today, on Prince Louis second birthday, new photographs taken by The Duchess this April.

Late spring is actually filled with plenty of royal celebrations! In addition to Her Majesty turning 94 just a few days ago, Princess Charlotte and Archie Harrison are celebrating their early May birthdays, in addition to Kate and William’s wedding anniversary on April 29.
So much to celebrate!!
No word on whether or not the Cambridges will be placing or receiving a call from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry over in Los Angeles, but we certainly hope so!
Happy birthday again, sweet Louis!!
