From tragedy to comedy?
Brad Pitt has been spotted out and about with Arrested Development star Alia Shawkat recently, making what might be the most intriguing new couple since Miley Cyrus and that haunted house zombie.
The twosome were spotted together at the “LA on Fire” art exhibit on Saturday, which showcased the work of over 50 artists telling the story of how El Lay has been ravaged by fires throughout the hears.
Pics of Brad and Alia looking artsy at Wilding Cran Gallery were shared to Instagram, with poster Meral Duran writing in the caption that she and the 55-year-old actor shared a “very interesting conversation” (about how he and Alia met, we hope!)

If it were just this one appearance together, we wouldn’t bat an eye. After all, artists love art, do they not?
But it appears the duo have been hanging out together for at least a few weeks now!
After some light Instagram digging, we pulled up a pic featuring the pair backstage at Mike Birbiglia’s one man show in El Lay, The New One, on October 23. As you can see (below) Brad is all smiles while Alia poses with a book of poetry written by Birbiglia’s wife:
Looks like this maybe-couple had a fun night — and it apparently wasn’t their first!
Back in September, Brad attended a performance of Ethan Cohen’s A Play Is A Poem in LA, and was seen leaving the event with an unidentified lady friend. But upon closer examination, it appears said lady friend is indeed the Search Party star. According to the paps, the two left together in the same car — so, all signs point to them being more than just friends who enjoy art.
We’ll take this with a grain of salt, though, seeing as none of the women Brad’s been liked to since his divorce from Angelina Jolie — including Kate Hudson, Sienna Miller, Charlize Theron, MIT professor Neri Oxman, and holistic healer Sat Hari Khalsa — have proven to be true — or at least, proven to become official.
Then again, a picture’s worth a thousand words — and the pics we’re looking at are saying the Ad Astra star is having a ball with the 30-year-old actress.
Whether just friends or something more, the Oscar winner could use a bit of fun in his life. As we reported, Brad’s family life has been less than ideal since his split from Angie, particularly his strained relationship with eldest son Maddox.
