The rumors were true…
For weeks, there has been speculation that Amy Schumer and her husband Chris Fisher were heading for a divorce. The comedian admitted to struggling in her marriage but remained hopeful that they could work through their issues together. However, insiders for People weren’t as optimistic. The sources said there’s “zero chance” of Amy and Chris fixing things after years of marital problems, and they are “working out [a] conscious uncoupling plan” to co-parent their 6-year-old son Gene amicably. Oof.

And sadly, it appears that the pair’s relationship is really over. The Trainwreck actress took to Instagram on Friday night to confirm she and Chris are ending their marriage after 7 years. Alongside a picture of them on a subway with their dog, Amy wrote:
“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years. We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not because I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”
A very Amy Schumer way of announcing her own breakup! Wow! Check out the announcement (below):

There is no word yet on what actually went wrong. Amy previously stressed, however, that their issues had nothing to do with her “weight loss or autism,” despite speculation. A source close to the pair told People on Friday that there is no bad blood between the former couple after the split:
“There’s nothing ugly. It’s a cohesive split. They’ve just been finalizing a few things.”
We saw the breakup coming. We mean, the guy literally made her an eyebrow-raising divorce cake years ago. Regardless, it is still sad to see this relationship ending.
At this time, neither Amy nor Chris has filed for divorce, but we expect it soon following the confirmation post. What are your reactions to the divorce news, Perezcious readers? Were you hopeful they could make it work, or did you believe they were dunzo from the beginning? Let us know in the comments.
