Jay Cutler spoke out for the first time today following news of his split from wife Kristin Cavallari — and his first public words since the divorce news come as a very positive, uplifting, and mature message to his now-estranged wife! Nice to see these two getting along right now, at least.

With it being Mother’s Day on this Sunday and all, the former NFL quarterback took to his official Instagram account just hours ago, opting to post a sweet and simple message to “all the moms” celebrating the big day out there. In the quick quip, he also included a particularly sweet nod to his soon-to-be ex-wife, as you can read (below):
“Happy Mother’s day to all the moms. These 3 little ones picked a good one.”

The retired 37-year-old former pro football player shared the message with a nice pic of the 33-year-old Very Cavallari star alongside the now-former couple’s three children: Jaxon, 6, Camden, 7, and Saylor, 4. Ch-ch-check that out (below):

So nice to see these two playing nice on social media, especially after a particularly difficult week full of updates about the ongoing divorce.

Jay wasn’t the only one who was busy celebrating the day, though! Kristin shared her own special photo with the couple’s three kids, too, writing her own sweet message about the day:
“Everything made sense once I become a mom to these 3. Being their mom is the greatest gift. Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there 💕”
