Not everyone saw Meghan Markle reading to her adorable son Archie Harrison and nearly exploded with hate. And fellow celeb mom Jennifer Garner kindly reminded everyone of that fact on Wednesday.
As we told you, Prince Harry recorded a sweet vid of his wife having a real mom moment with Master Archie to celebrate the Royal baby’s first birthday.
Unfortunately some people took it as an attempt to hog the spotlight by the former Suits actress, namely Something Borrowed author Emily Giffin, who called Meghan “phony” and “unmaternal” on her Instagram Story.

After being dragged as racist — since no one could figure out any other reason for someone to hate on a mother for sharing a cute vid of reading with her son — Giffin apologized for the “impact” her commentary had, though she swore her “intent” was totally justified. (For the record, that is never much of an apology.)
Sadly in all this controversy something very important seems to have gotten lost; the whole thing was supposed to be for charity!
The video was posted on the Instagram pages of Save The Children and Save With Stories, partner organizations aiming to feed needy children — a cause which could use the extra exposure.
Well, Garner, who launched Save With Stories with fellow star Amy Adams, didn’t forget how important the sweet video was supposed to be. In a genuine open letter, she thanked Meghan and Harry for their help, writing:
“Dear Meghan and Harry, Thank you for sharing your gorgeous son with the world and allowing us to join you in celebrating his first birthday. We are humbled and grateful that you chose @savewithstories to mark this special day and in so doing have raised the visibility of @savethechildren’s work in the US and UK and have helped feed and educate children in desperate need of both.”
She also pointed out what anyone NOT obsessed with hating Meghan could see — just how cute the darn thing was:
“More than anything watching you lovingly talk through the pictures while your clever Archie turns the pages lifts all of us up and reminds us that what may seem like a duck just might turn out to be a rabbit. Thank you for this joyful and meaningful shift in perspective.”
So nice to know some people have their priorities in order! If YOU want to donate to Save With Stories, you can do so HERE.
