Kanye West Says Jonah Hill ‘Made Me Like Jewish People Again’ After His Antisemitism Controversy

Kanye West is back on social media to address his antisemitic tirades.

The 45-year-old rapper returned to Instagram for the first time since his series of antisemitic rants to declare that he likes “Jewish people again,” all thanks to Jonah Hill’s performance in 21 Jump Street. No, we’re not joking. Alongside a picture of the movie poster from the 39-year-old actor and Channing Tatum’s 2012 comedy film, he wrote on Saturday:

“Watching Jonah Hill in 21 Jump street made me like Jewish people again. No one should take anger against one or two individuals and transform that into hatred towards millions of innocent people. No Christian can be labeled antisemite knowing Jesus is Jew. Thank you Jonah Hill I love you.”

Is this supposed to be his apology about everything that happened? Seriously?!

As you most likely will recall, Kanye made a series of antisemitic comments and promoted several antisemitic conspiracy theories throughout 2022, starting with his threat to go “death con 3 on Jewish people” on Twitter. The Yeezy designer added at the time:

“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”

He even went as far as to praise Hitler and the Nazis during an interview with known conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on InfoWars and posted a swastika on social media. WTF. On top of his highly-offensive and disgusting remarks, he wore a “White Lives Matter” shirt during Paris Fashion Week. As a result of his actions, several companies cut ties with the record producer, including Vogue, Balenciaga, Adidas, CAA, and Gap.

And considering Ye has continuously doubled down on his remarks, it’s hard to believe he suddenly regrets his terrible behavior. And even if Kanye is trying to be genuine, the damage has already been done at this point. Back in February, the Anti-Defamation League released a report revealing that at least 30 antisemitic incidents could be directly linked to the All of the Lights artist’s comments. Just awful.

So one single post will not erase the hurt he has caused by his actions or make people think he actually had a change of heart and now understands that what he did was horrific. At this time, Jonah has not reacted to Kanye’s statement. Reactions to the post, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments below.
