Kim Kardashian Sets The Record Straight About Australia Wildfires Donation

The wildfires ravaging Australia weren’t far from the thoughts of many celebs during Sunday night’s Golden Globes ceremony.

Though she wasn’t in attendance, the devastation was also top of mind for Kim Kardashian West.

In a now-deleted tweet, a critic called out the Keeping Up With The Kardashians stars on Twitter for seemingly not donating to the crisis:

“nothing gets me more heated than to see the Kardashians/Jenners talk about climate change/wildfires & not donate even a penny. @KimKardashian @khloekardashian @KylieJenner @KendallJenner @kourtneykardash”

But it wasn’t long before the critique caught the eye of the KKW Beauty founder. Late Sunday night, she responded:

“nothing gets me more heated than to see people think they know what we donated to and to think we have to publicize everything”

A few days prior, the momma of four tweeted out:

“Climate change is realย ๐Ÿ’”๐ŸŒŽ”

Maybe she and Kanye West could hit up Donald Trump to convince him of that… just sayin’.

Back at the awards, several celebs also sounded off about the fires, which have now claimed at least 25 lives. Russell Crowe was not present to accept his statuette for his role in The Loudest Voice, but made his voice heard via presenter Jennifer Aniston.

The New Zealand-born star was battling fires down under during the ceremony, but sent in a poignant message to be read should he win:

“Make no mistake, the tragedy unfolding in Australia is climate-change-based. We need to act based on science, move our global workforce to renewable energy and respect our planet for the unique and amazing place it is.”

Though a bit rougher around the edges, Joaquin Phoenix began to share a similar message on stage as he accepted the Best Actor in Motion Picture – Drama award for The Joker before the music started to cut him off. The 45-year-old stated:

“Contrary to popular belief, I don’t want to rock the boat. But the boat is f**king rocked. It’s really nice that so many people have sent their well wishes to Australia but we have to do more than that. Hopefully, we can be unified and actually make some changes. It’s great to vote, but sometimes we have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make changes and sacrifices in our own lives. We don’t have to take private jets to Palm Springs for the awards.”
