Is Mama June Shannon finally ready to turn her life around and get back home after a rough past couple of months?
The embattled, former reality TV star has been on a truly bizarre personal road trip with her boyfriend Geno Doak since August, leaving her three daughters including Honey Boo Boo (born Alana Thompson), Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon, and Jessica “Chubs” Shannon to fend for themselves with extended family in the meantime.
In a new Instagram post uploaded on Thursday, Mama June appeared to have a moment of clarity about her recent string of bad decisions and made an emotional plea to do better!

Alongside a flattering photo of herself (featured above), the 40-year-old wrote:
“Well decided to get back at it. I’m not saying I’m perfect as every day is a struggle [and] some days I just want to disappear [sic]. Even though me [and] kids aren’t still seeing each other [and] it’s been very hard on all of us but I hope one day that will change as I want them to know I miss [and] love them very much.”
Her rare public statement comes three months after she pled not guilty to drug possession charges and even longer since she refused to participate in a televised intervention staged by her family last May.
As we mentioned, June and Geno have been making headlines for allegedly trashing various hotel rooms on their sporadic road trip and even getting arrested during a heated domestic dispute. They have been photographed looking worse for wear in different casinos across Georgia, making it painfully clear Mama June needed major help.
So, this plea should be a welcome one after all of the drama, right? Well…
Mama June’s Family Calls Bulls**t!
Sources close to her family told TMZ they think her social media post is nothing but an attention grab!
The outlet’s sources allege the selfie used in her post is two years old and they claim she’s using it to appear in a much better state than she might be just to gain public sympathy. They believe June’s ultimate goal is to drum up enough attention to start making money through paid IG ads.
According to these insiders, the momma of three has only contacted them once recently to check on a family member who had a heart attack. After that, she reportedly went radio silent again when her kids pressed her on where she was and how she was doing.
Basically, they’re calling her a big fat liar about not being able to contact them!
So, what’s the real deal here?
It’s a bit hard to make sense of everything isn’t it, Perezcious readers?
We’d love to believe that Mama June is truly on her way to some positive changes. However, the starlet’s track record leads us to believe otherwise and we have to consider those additional family reports, too.
Back when June first took off with Geno, a source told E! News that “none of her daughters are talking to her at this point, including Alana. They’ve cut her off.” They added:
“She chose Geno over them. Good or bad, she likes the attention. She really only cares about herself. That’s crystal clear to her family.”
Right now, Alana, 14, continues to live with older sister Lauryn, 20, and her husband and young daughter.
