How you doin’?
Matt LeBlanc reflected on his iconic Friends character, Joey Tribbiani, as well as the impact of the sitcom while sitting down for an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

The 52-year-old explained (above) how the cast was subject to some “weird” invasions of privacy back in the day. During the pre-taped interview, he told Kelly Clarkson:
“I remember one time, it was during the week, I had been flipping channels and watching the news and for some reason, they had a split-screen on the TV, six quadrants.”
He continued:
“Each was a live shot of each one of our houses, like a helicopter shot. I was watching it and there was no information or news, it was just showing houses.”
However, there was a funny silver lining! LeBlanc laughed, sharing:
“I remember looking closely at my house and thinking ‘F— I need a new roof.’ So the helicopter flies away and I get the ladder and I go up there.”
The sitcom, also starring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry and David Schwimmer, was a hit back in the 90s, and “feels somehow just as relevant [now] as it did back then,” the Charlie’s Angels actor explained.
As fans of the series are likely aware, it was on Netflix for some time but has since been removed ahead of the HBO Max launch. Today, it has an even more widespread audience because of streaming services and re-runs:
“It felt really huge, but the way things are now with social media and streaming, the ability to binge-watch something. It’s funny because we’re all so much older now. You look on TV and you think ‘Look you’re so young!’ And you come back and you’re like ‘Jesus.'”
The Joey Tribbiani portrayer also dished about the highly-anticipated Friends reunion special currently in the works for HBO’s new streaming service:
“It’s not a scripted thing, it’s not like an episode. It’s more of the six of us together talking about the good old days.”
Jokingly, he added:
“Like we got the band back together without the instruments.”
While production has been postponed until at least May due to the coronavirus, it’s still something to look forward to down the road! We know we can’t wait, how about U? Sound OFF (below) and let us know if you’re excited to see the sixsome reunite once more!!
