Not only are Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson still together, they’re also apparently keeping things easy-breezy, cool, and behind closed doors these days!
As we reported this week, the couple was rumored to have split after just over a month together, but sources close to the lovebirds say they’re actually in a great place — despite literally being thousands of miles apart right now!

In case you missed it, Miley’s been hanging at her old pad in Tennessee and resting up after undergoing vocal chord surgery earlier this month. The operation came just a few weeks after being treated for tonsillitis, forcing the Mother’s Daughter singer to put all singing on pause until further notice.
Meanwhile, Cody’s been busy doing his own thing across the country in Los Angeles — but sources over at People insist their romance is still going strong:
“Miley and Cody have their separate lives. Cody had to stay in L.A. but has visited Miley in Tennessee. They have a very easy relationship. They see each other when they can, and when they are apart, things are good too. This works for both of them.”
Distance really does make the heart grow fonder, we guess!
We’re glad to hear the pair knows how to support and yet still give each other space while they work on their personal lives. That balance is usually a good sign in relationships and it’s something Cyrus has reportedly expressed a desire for a long time.
How sweet!
This update comes just a day after the 22-year-old Australian singer took to his Instagram Story to show fans a glimpse of his iPhone background which is a childhood pic of Miley — acting as definitive proof he and Liam Hemsworth‘s ex are still in each other’s hearts.
As our readers will recall, he was prompted to do so after a RadarOnline.com source claimed the twosome had called it quits:
“They are taking a break, but want to remain friends. She said she just needs to focus on herself.”
But shortly after, an E! News source came through countering that the two are not broken up after all:
“Miley and Cody saw each other last week when he visited her in Tennessee. They are fine and are still dating… Miley has been resting from her vocal surgery but has been in touch and seen Cody recently.”
Yeah, that last bit tracks well with our initial update at the top and gives some reasonable insight as to why they’ve been absent on each other’s socials lately. So, good for them!
