Millie Bobby Brown Says She ‘Felt Safe’ Working With David Harbour On Stranger Things Despite Bombshell Bullying Report

Millie Bobby Brown is speaking out about what it was really like to work with co-star David Harbour following those bombshell claims!

In case you missed it, a report surfaced earlier this month claiming the 21-year-old actress filed a harassment and bullying complaint against the 50-year-old actor before filming began for the final season of Stranger Things. There reportedly were “pages and pages of accusations” about his on-set behavior. However, a source did not give details to Dailymail.com about the specific claims — except to note that it did not involve sexual misconduct.

With no other information, fans soon began to do some digging and discovered some old tense interviews between them. Reports later insisted their conflict wasn’t as bad as it seemed, though. And then the two stepped out arm-in-arm at the Los Angeles premiere for Season 5, shutting down the rumors. See (below):

Stranger Things creators Ross and Matt Duffer also addressed the controversy, saying that “nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.” Meanwhile, executive producer and director Shawn Levy said he’s seen some “wildly inaccurate” stories floating out there, but that the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect.”

But what does Millie have to say about the whole situation herself? The Enola Holmes alum finally opened up about her working relationship with David. And despite those reports, she told Deadline on Friday that she “felt safe” on set with him over the years:

“Of course I felt safe, I mean, we’ve worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set.”

That’s good to hear! Phew! Millie explained that playing on-screen family members for the past decade has formed a close bond between David and her:

“You naturally just… you know, you’ve been doing it for so long. We also play father and daughter so naturally, we have a closer bond than the rest because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in season 2. David and I have a great relationship, we work really closely together in the scenes and preparing for the scenes, and I really am excited to see… for everyone to see the labor of love and hard work we’ve put into the closure of our relationship and what that looks like.”

And that is not all she had to say! Millie also talked about claims surrounding David in another interview with The Hollywood Reporter this week. When asked why the pair felt it was important to put on a united front amid the accusations, she replied:

“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years. I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”

Millie went on to say that it was “so nice” and “really exciting” to “come back together” with David for the final season, adding:

“It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that. And I think some of people’s favorite scenes of Eleven are Ele and [Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.”

If there was a problem between Millie and David on set at one point, she is clearly not giving details at this time — or possibly ever. Thoughts, Perezcious readers? Let us know in the comments!
