Morgan Wallen‘s son Indigo was taken to the emergency room over the weekend after he was bitten by a rescue dog that his mother KT Smith owned.
On Monday (June 19), the country star’s former partner took to social media to explain what had happened to their two-year-old son in a tearful video.
She revealed that her son was bitten but would make a recovery after getting several stitches. KT also had a request for fans.

Taking to her Instagram story, KT explained that her rescue dog Legend bit Indigo on the face, necessitating a trip to the emergency room for stitches.
“He did have stitches, but he’ll be ok,” she said of her son, adding that he might be left with a small scar.
KT turned to her followers with a question about Legend. While she acknowledged that many were encouraging her to put the dog down, she said that wasn’t an option for her. Despite that, she knew that she couldn’t keep him in the same home as Indigo since the child might be dealing with trauma.
“I figured that I could ask you guys if you knew of anywhere that wasn’t a shelter, because I don’t think he deserves a shelter either because he came from trauma being left on the side of the road for months,” she explained. “I’m getting Indigo back home tomorrow and he has to be gone by then and I cannot put him down either because like I said he doesn’t deserve that either.”
She returned with an update about the dog a few hours later.
“Just wanted to update you guys but also thank you all for all of the help and support,” she wrote in a post on her Instagram story. “We just dropped legend off with the sweetest family where he will be living out his full potential and best life on a farm. i couldn’t have asked for a better family for him to be loved on by, and they’re east tennesseans so we can visit any time we need to.”
We’re so glad that Indigo will make a recovery and that the family was able to find a home for Legend.
If you were unaware, Morgan has recently been having his own health problems, which he updated fans about.
