Netflix Debuts 'Depp v. Heard' Trailer Documenting Johnny Depp & Amber Heard's Defamation Trial - Watch Now

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard‘s much talked about trial is getting the Netflix treatment with the new Depp v. Heard docu-series.

For those unaware, Johnny sued his ex wife, Amber, for $50 million in damages after she published a 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post that said she became a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” Amber never mentioned Johnny by name in the piece, but his lawyers argued that it was about him. Johnny has continually denied all allegations of domestic abuse.

Johnny largely won the lawsuit, which wrapped up in June 2022

The docuseries will examine “the infamous defamation case that captured the world’s attention and became the world’s first trial by TikTok,” according to Netflix‘s official description. “Showing both testimonies side-by-side for the first time, this series explores this global media event, questioning the nature of truth and the role it plays in our modern society.”

Sources recently shared details on what Johnny plans on doing with the settlement money he was awarded from Amber.

Netflix will debut the three-part Depp v. Heard docu-series on Wednesday, August 16.
