Prince Andrew losing the “Prince” and just becoming Andrew Mountbatten Windsor ain’t just about having to get new stationery. Not only has the black sheep been stripped of his titles, it seems he’s been stripped of certain protections!
By making the official move to kick his brother out of the royal family, King Charles has, apparently, sent a message that Andrew is no longer under the umbrella of The Firm. And the US House of Representatives got that message loud and clear!
Under Trump, the DOJ and FBI have officially given up their investigation into Jeffrey Epstein, but that doesn’t mean the US government is done. The House Oversight Committee is currently doing its own digging into the late sex trafficker — including his finances and associates. If nothing else, it’ll be good to have a firm base for when Speaker Mike Johnson is eventually forced to swear in the deciding vote on releasing the Epstein files. Any day on that now…

Anyway, House Oversight has their next white whale interviewee lined up — and now they actually think they can get him! California Rep. Robert Garcia, the ranking Dem on the committee, sent a formal request to Prince Andrew to come answer questions as part of their inquiry. In a press release, per The Guardian, the committee declared:
“The oversight committee will investigate allegations of abuse by Mountbatten Windsor, and will seek information on Epstein’s operations, network, and associates based on the men’s longstanding and well-documented friendship.”
The letter, cosigned by 13 other Democrats on the committee, addresses Andrew directly — and does NOT mince words:
“It has been publicly reported that your friendship with Mr Epstein began in 1999 and that you remained close through and after his 2008 conviction for procuring minors for prostitution. It has also been reported that you traveled with Epstein to his New York residence, the Queen’s residence at Balmoral, and to Mr Epstein’s private island in the US Virgin Islands, where you have been accused of abusing minors. This close relationship with Mr Epstein, coupled with the recently revealed 2011 email exchange in which you wrote to him ‘we are in this together’, further confirms our suspicion that you may have valuable information about the crimes committed by Mr Epstein and his co-conspirators.”
Damn. They request a formal response by November 20, two weeks away.
Will they get Andrew to actually testify? Like, voluntarily? Not a chance. We’re pretty sure he learned his lesson from that disastrous Newsnight interview. This is NOT a trustworthy man, and the last time he tried to explain his side of things to the UK public, even his own mother knew she had to take him out of rotation as a working royal. And that was under the questioning of a nice lady at the BBC. This would be in front of Congress. So no, even Andrew has figured out he’s better off shutting himself away in whatever back room he’s been granted on the Sandringham Estate.
But the fact the committee is even bold enough to try now? It tells you everything about what stripping this man of his titles has really done. And who knows? Maybe the next time it’ll be a little more than an invitation.
