Pete Davidson might not have seen thank u, next coming, but he did know his engagement with Ariana Grande was over before she actually decided to end it.
As we reported, the Saturday Night Live star sat down with rapper Charlamagne Tha God in an interview posted Monday on YouTube, where he got candid about all things love.
When the subject of his relationship with the Grammy winner came up, the 26-year-old revealed he “pretty much knew” their whirlwind romance was over after the tragic death of Ari’s ex, Mac Miller.

After Charlamagne asked how seeing the pop star publicly grieve over the late rapper — who died of accidental overdose of fentanyl, cocaine and alcohol at the age of 26 on Sept. 7, 2018 — affected him, Pete recalled:
“I totally got it. She would even tell you this. I was like, ‘Listen, I get it, do whatever you’ve got to do, I’ll be here.’ I think I said, ‘I’ll be here until you don’t want me to be here.’”
As fans know, the songstress ended up breaking off the engagement and went on to mourn Mac’s death — and the death of her relationship with Pete — by recording new music.
Pete added:
“I pretty much knew it was around over after that. That was really horrible, and I can’t imagine what that s**t is like. All I do know is that she really loved the s**t out of him, and she wasn’t putting on a show or anything. That was f**ked up. Prayers to his family and all of his friends.”
It’s nice to hear Pete was there for Ariana the exact amount she needed him to be at such a devastating time in her life.
