Elsie Hewitt has a hot take that we’re sure a LOT of mommas can relate to!
In a new essay for Elle, the 29-year-old girlfriend of Pete Davidson revealed that she absolutely “hated” being pregnant! As you know, the couple had their daughter Scottie Rose back in late December, and it was a dream come true for the comedian and his lady. But the road to get there wasn’t paved with gold — and now the model is explaining exactly what was so tough.
She wrote on Wednesday:
“For the most part, I hated being pregnant. I was deeply uncomfortable. I was constantly sick, exhausted, and in pain.”
Before she gave birth, she was very open about her struggles with endometriosis and Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. Because of this, plus all the pain and problems she had amid her pregnancy, she revealed she kept things as “clinical” as possible:
“Because of my prior reproductive health issues, I chose to be under the care of an OB-GYN rather than a midwife. It was the most clinical approach to pregnancy and birth — not one I loved — but one I felt I needed for my health and safety.”

Completely understandable. And with her constant pain, she expressed her frustration with the medical industry as a whole — particularly toward women:
“I found myself in yet another season of frustrating self-advocacy within a medical system that often fails to listen to women as carefully as it should.”
Preach!
Now, though, the pair of happy new parents are enjoying every second with their little Scottie Rose. We’re so glad to hear Elsie and the baby are both doing well now — but we totally get her! Lots of women don’t bode with pregnancy well, and that’s just how it is for some people. Everyone’s body is different.
