Red, White & Royal Blue has a lot of great reviews that it’s only natural for fans to wonder about a possible sequel to the movie.

“I would love to do a sequel,” Matthew didn’t hesitate in saying, but adding that it would only happen “if we have the right story.”

He went on, saying that “there has to be a better reason than simply the desire to make one. There has to be a compelling story reason. I don’t think a sequel is a bad idea, but I don’t think a sequel for the sake of doing a sequel is necessarily sufficient.”

Matthew also noted that the movie is still in its infancy, being only a few days old, too.

“Before I can start thinking of sequels, I’m still trying to understand the impact this movie has had on the world. And I’m incredibly grateful that it has been received with so much love and warmth and enthusiasm,” he shared.

Red, White & Royal Blue is streaming now on Prime Video.
