The four ladies of Sex And The City haven’t seen eye-to-eye on anything in nearly a decade, but there’s nothing like a crisis to bring a family together.
And as the coronavirus pandemic is hitting New York harder than most places, the stars who made the city their home both on and off-screen are giving some words of encouragement to the medical workers on the front lines fighting this virus.
The Bradshaw Boys podcast got a special request from a woman whose friend Meg works in the COVID-19 Intensive Care Unit. Meg is a huge fan of SATC and a listener of the podcast, so hosts Cory Cavin, Kevin James Doyle, and Jon Sieber pulled some strings to send her and the other workers some words of encouragement from the cast of the classic comedy.

They’d spoken to Sarah Jessica Parker before, so we’re guessing that was the first cast member they reached out to. SJP called in with praise for the “amazing, incredible” workers who spend these “unimaginably scary” days “literally running toward” the danger:
“The thing that’s hard in moments like this is to try to summon adequate words to convey gratitude, appreciation, respect, adoration, awe. I’m inspired. I’m stunned. There is a courage that’s unfamiliar to me… The understanding that they have an obligation and their commitment to confronting something so terrifying and to just feel that is the only place they would be, should be, despite the lack of the resources that they need.”
She continued:
“What Meg is doing, what her colleagues are doing, I don’t think we ever imagined that we would be asking this of our medical community. And I don’t know how to thank them enough. I don’t know what else to do… I’m just so touched by their commitment and effort.”
But it wasn’t just Carrie this time!
Cynthia Nixon may not have been able to challenge Andrew Cuomo in the gubernatorial race in 2018, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t still New York’s biggest cheerleader and the “heroes” protecting them right now! Miranda said:
“I know how amazing your hospital is, you saved my mother’s life when she had a heart attack in 2001. Thank you for what you are doing, I heard your husband is also an ER doctor. You’re just our heroes right now. Please stay safe. And just thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
Kristin Davis, who is basically as upbeat and can-do as Charlotte IRL, told Meg:
“We know it’s really difficult and it means so much to all of us that you are on the front lines. Thank you so much for watching Sex and the City. We’re happy to bring you some joy. Keep on working hard. We’re thinking about you.”
And guess what? For the first time in forever, Kim Cattrall joined in, too! She called and said:
“Without you, we couldn’t keep going. I’m so glad to hear we put a smile on your face as you walk across the park and get on that front line. We’re with you. We love you. We can’t do it without you.”
Yay! Samantha, too! Only for a very good cause, we guess.
Other cast members who gave a shoutout include David Eigenberg (Steve), Mario Cantone (Anthony), Ben Weber (Skipper), and Willie Garson (Stanford). Hear all the heartfelt messages (below)!
